by Arne Jacobsen, 1929

Bellevue AJ7, the floor lamp by the renowned designer Arne Jacobsen, was originally designed in 1929 as part of an entire family of lamps for the theater with the same name north of Copenhagen, Danemark. Arne Jacobsen, known for designs in the Bauhaus style and functionalism, applied a simple and ingenious design concept to the Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp: the conical lampshade, held on the inside in white, is used to concentrate and reflect the light.

Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp

At the same time, the light source in the center of the Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp by &tradition is covered by the asymmetrically tapered lampshade, creating an extremely pleasant, indirect light, similar to a spot. The shiny steel or brass frame of the Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp is formed from one piece and ends in the lampshade, which is held by a so-called gooseneck – a flexible light holder tube. With a diameter of 60 centimeters and a height of 130 centimeters, the Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp can be operated with a lamp of up to 60 watts. Equipped with a textile-covered 2 meters long cable that simply has to be plugged into the socket, the Bellevue AJ7 floor lamp can be put into operation immediately after delivery and used flexibly.
